Asa Richards HAD, Mshaa Audiologist & Founder, The Chepstow Hearing Clinic
I've been working in audiology for well over a decade. In that time I've worked at every level of the industry, from clinical director roles at large multinational hearing care providers to teaching the next generation of audiologists as a clinical lecturer at South Devon University and College.
I founded The Hearing Clinic Group, which includes The Chepstow Hearing Clinic and The Clevedon Hearing Clinic, with a simple aim: to give people across South Wales and the South West access to genuinely independent hearing care. No manufacturer ties and no pressure. Just honest, thorough advice for people who deserve straight answers about their hearing.
Between our clinics we've now supported over 9,000 patients across Chepstow, Monmouthshire, the Forest of Dean and the Bristol and Clevedon area, and every single one of them gets the same thing: time, full attention, and advice based entirely on what's right for them.

Demant Stars Academy 2019 — selected as one of 80 audiologists worldwide
The Demant Stars Academy is one of the most competitive peer recognition programmes in global audiology. Being selected in 2019 meant being chosen from thousands of audiologists internationally.
Background
Before founding the clinics, I held a director-level position at a large multinational hearing care provider, overseeing clinical standards and service delivery across multiple sites. That experience gave me a clear picture of how hearing care works at scale, and what gets lost when commercial pressures take over.
I also worked as a Clinical Lecturer at South Devon University and College, delivering audiology training to healthcare professionals. Teaching forces you to be precise. You have to be able to explain the reasoning behind everything you do, clearly and accurately, and that discipline carries directly into clinical practice.
Both roles shaped how I run these clinics. High clinical standards, clear communication, no shortcuts.
What I Write About
All clinical content on the Chepstow Hearing Clinic blog is written or reviewed by me. I write about ear wax removal, hearing loss, hearing aids and hearing health, based on what I see in the clinic every week rather than what performs well online.
If you want reliable, practical information about your hearing written by someone who actually treats patients, the blog is a good place to start.
