Rechargeable batteries
Changing small disposable batteries every few days used to be one of the most common frustrations with hearing aids. Most modern premium hearing aids now come with a charging case. They charge overnight and last a full day. This is particularly helpful for people with arthritis or limited dexterity.
Streaming from phones and televisions
Most current hearing aids connect by Bluetooth to iPhones and many Android phones. Calls, music and podcasts stream directly to the hearing aids, adjusted to the wearer’s hearing. A small TV streamer can send television audio straight to the hearing aids, so the television can stay at a volume that suits everyone in the room.
Small, discreet styles
Receiver-in-canal (RIC) hearing aids, with a small case behind the ear and the speaker in the ear canal, are the style most commonly fitted in the UK.
